Need help using dozzle in agent mode

i have multiple vps server, say vps A & B. I have deployed dozzle WebUI on vps A which i am gonna access using my domain with reverse proxy hence i have skipped exposing the port 8080.

Now after i deploy dozzle agent in vps B, is it possible to connect this agent to webUI on vps A without exposing the port 7007 ?

Dozzle needs to access the agent somehow, so you must expose a port for Dozzle to access.

If VPS is exposed to the public, then you should generate your own certificates.

I am not too familiar with VPN, but you could probably setup something where you can access the agent through a VPN.

Thanks for the prompt reply and confirmation, probably i could use some tunnel to achieve this, will update this thread once i am able to.

Lastly, regarding the certificates, just so i am understanding it correctly, its mentioned in docs that the same certificates should be provided to the Dozzle instance connecting to the agent. but i am gonna access the dozzle UI instance using reverse proxy with my domain which already handles automatic cert generation. So do i have to force the reverse proxy to skip automatic cert generation and use the one i have manually created and loaded up for agent ?

Hi! Just to clarify, the certificates mentioned in the documentation for Dozzle are specifically for securing the connection between the agent and the Dozzle instance—not for the browser connection to the UI.

Since you’re using a reverse proxy with your own domain, you can continue letting your reverse proxy handle automatic certificate generation for browser access (e.g., with Let’s Encrypt). There’s no need to force your reverse proxy to use the same certs you’ve set up for the agent connection.

And if you plan to do some tunnel, then you can probably skip the custom certs.
